La expresión “desarrollo sostenible” satisface a todas las partes, motivado fundamentalmente por la posibilidad de cada uno paraenfatizar la palabra que más le interese de estas dos, ya de por sí ambiguas.

El que quiera mejorar las condiciones económicas de una comunidad coincidirá con el que a su vez quiera ver crecer sus negocios en preferir “desarrollo”, procurando que sus beneficios se sostengan o incrementen durante el mayor tiempo posible. El preocupado por la pérdidad de biodiversidad, el debilitamiento de los ecosistemas o el cambio climático pondrá el énfasis en lo “sostenible” ,ecológicamente, de la actividades humanas. (más…)

ECHOING AND extending the title of Stephen Hawking’s best- seller, Ken Wilber’s new book is an accessible statement of the arguments of his recent magisterial Sex, Ecology, Spirituality, which runs to 500 pages with 380 pages of notes. The less intrepid reader would be advised to start with this book before moving on to the detail of the larger work. Wilber’s work is comparable in scale to that of Arnold Toynbee, Pitirim Sorokin and Jean Gebser – I can think of no other writer with such profound understanding of psychology, philosophy, evolutionary theory, comparative religion and mysticism. The word ‘ecology’ is more elegant, in my opinion, than ‘environmentalism’. ‘Ecology’ comes from two mystery words of the ancient Greeks: oikos and logos. The latter is in the mystical statement found at the beginning of John’s Gospel: “In the beginning was the logos.” Logos can mean ‘story’, ‘meaning’, or ‘mystery’. This is the logos I understand to be linked to oikos, which means house and home, but also refers to the temple of the god or goddess and the astrological domain of the planetary spirit. It’s worth noting that the ancient words that make up ‘eco-logy’ are sacred words. The combined roots of ‘ecology’ could be translated as ‘the mystery of being at home in this life’. When you live ecologically, you are part of life, a member of the family, and not apart from it (más…)

Origen de los trabajos

La propiedad de la finca, en el Norte de Cáceres, se preocupaba de la situación de muchas encinas de la zona, enfermas unas y muertas otras. Esta dehesa está dedicada al ganado vacuno, y hace unos años se plantaron gran cantidad de olivos en zonas sin árboles, siendo gestionados de forma convencional e intensiva. (más…)

La Oficina Europea de los Consumidores informa ‘online’ sobre sustancias domésticas nocivas

Bilbao, 23 ene 2004 (Consumer.es).- La Oficina Europea de las Asociaciones de Consumidores (BEUC) ha puesto en marcha a través de la web ‘www.chemical-cocktail.org’ una campaña que muestra un inventario virtual de elementos cotidianos del hogar susceptibles de contener sustancias potencialmente nocivas para la salud y el medio ambiente. Introducción a la Insostenibilidad
Ya me han hablado de eso de la “Sostenibilidad” en los edificios y no me convence. Prefiero seguir como siempre y por ello estoy convencido de lo siguiente:

1. Lo unico que realmente me interesa esque mi edificio no sea mas caro, aunque me aseguran que un edificio sostenible no tiene porque serlo. Lo que pudiera ahorrar en el futuro ya lo arreglaré yo mas adelante. (más…)
